Distortion measurements in Keratoconus

Corneal topography in keratoconus

In this project we aim to develop vision tests to measure distortion in keratoconus. Keratoconus is the most common corneal degeneration. This affects mostly young adults and has a devastating imapct on their vision and day to day lives. The current vision tests that measure visual acuity or contrast sensitivity are not very sensitive to the changes in the structure of cornea. These measures are also not good at predicting the symptoms experienced in keratoconus.

Distorted vision is the most common complaint of people with keratoconus but there are no clinical tests to mesure the distorted vision. In this project we aim to develop vision tests to measure distorted vision in keratoconus.
